We've had a super busy summer hosting an array of events and activities for local people. This summer our popular breakfast club was back giving children free cereal or toast plus fruit and a drink every day. Over the course of the summer 330 free breakfasts were given out. The team ran six free all-age creative workshops that celebrated the heritage of Nuneaton. These included a weaving workshop, a mosaic workshop and a stained-glass workshop. At the beginning of April we were thrilled to receive an email saying that we had been nominated to receive a ‘High Sheriff Award’. These awards are ‘a way of recognising and celebrating the work of individuals and organisations within the County who have made outstanding contributions.’ Our team members Cherish and Hannah attended the ceremony on the 10th April 2025, and were presented with the award from the then High Sheriff of Warwickshire, Mrs Rajvinder Kaur Gill. On 7th April 2025, we held a ‘Grand Opening’ event to mark the culmination of 6 months of renovation works to our first floor Victorian Hall, and the adjoining kitchen and toilet facilities. The event was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress, as well as His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire, as well as many other people who have been a part of the story of Saints over the last five years. Saints is open Tuesday - Saturdays 9:30-3:30 to the public and for anyone who needs a warm space and support, we provide a warm welcome, warm free food and a host of free activities. As well as our usual free activities throughout the week, as part of our warm hub at Saints we have began various initiatives to keep our community fed, connected and warm this winter! After a month for renovations, we reopened on October 22nd with a fresh new café offer. Food with a difference We now have a partnership with the wonderful Ediblelinks, and through them we are able to purchase food wastage that would otherwise be going to landfill at a reduced price. We have been awarded £1.8million from the Nuneaton Towns Fund to enable the purchase of our building, and to renovate the stunning St Georges Hall and the rest of the 1st floor of our building. From the 19th – 22nd December, we ran a series of family fun events that were free to families with children on free school meals, who received a council issued ‘HAF code’. We packed in as many fun activities as we possibly could across the four days, and we had an amazing time with all the families who came! We are excited to announce that we are running our Summer Staycation for families over the summer holidays, starting Thursday 5th August and ending Wednesday 1st September! This is part of the council’s HAF programme, and there will be bookable spaces available for eligible children with HAF codes. We are partnering with our friends at YWAM and running the event at two locations, our building in Nuneaton town centre, and the YWAM building ‘The Kings Lodge’ on Watling Street.

During the May half term here at Saints we opened up our building specially to run four afternoons of free/low cost children's activities. The activities available changed each day, and included biscuit icing, jewellery making, a town centre scavenger hunt, willow weaving and lots more. Over the two weeks running up to Easter, with funding obtained by Together for Change from the Warwickshire County Council's HAF programme, we were able to pack and deliver Easter hampers to around 1500 children on free school meals around Nuneaton and Bedworth. With the help of our wonderful volunteers we packaged and delivered hampers to 18 schools and churches across a period of two weeks. Though we have been closed for normal opening, we have been able to host several essential support groups, as well as providing frozen meal hampers on many occasions for families and individuals who have hit hard times during the pandemic.
