Upgrading the Café and Main Stairwell

Improving our facilities, adapting to new plans.

In early 2021, we began work on the main internal staircase, the first floor corner room and the first floor disabled toilet. The stairs in particular were in significant disrepair. We took great care to try and make colour and material choices that were in sympathy with the history of the building, whilst also remaining practical and durable.

The corner room had a makeover and was ready for use for meetings - later on it became Cassey's beauty treatment room. We put in a new disabled toilet, preparing for one day having lift access to the first floor.

Later on in 2021 we also upgraded the café, installing our own kitchen and pot washing areas as we prepared to launch our new food provision.

The unstoppable team of Dave and Dave returned to help us with these projects, with help from some other brilliant contrators!
